Faith in Action

Our Ministries

Growing together in faith, caring for one another, and sharing the love of Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, fellowship, and service.

Faith in Action at Saint Matthew's

At Saint Matthew's United Methodist Church, ministry is one of the ways we put our faith into action. Through caring for our neighbors, growing together in Christ, and sharing in fellowship and service, we seek to reflect God's love throughout our community.

We invite you to explore our ministries and discover opportunities to connect, participate, and serve.

Food Bank

St. Matthew's United Methodist Church not only feeds the spirit but also the physical body. Our food pantry's mission is to ensure that everyone has access to food regardless of religion, race or gender. This ministry consists of dedicated volunteers in conjunction with the local food bank, who provide generous food baskets to recipients every third Tuesday of the month. Everyone is welcome. If you are in need or know someone who is, please contact your local food bank.

United Methodist Men

The United Methodist Men of St. Matthew's Delair is a ministry to help our men grow in Christ, deepen their faith, and engage in servant leadership. The men assemble several times throughout the year to prepare for the annual Men's Day (celebration of men), support the Men's Federation of churches of Camden, Burlington, Gloucester, and Salem Counties, provide formal and informal mentorship, and engage in fundraising. The ministry's goals are to inspire greater spiritual growth and service and to encourage young men in their spiritual journey.

United Women in Faith

United Women in Faith (UWIF) is a ministry empowering women to promote the kingdom of God through fellowship, prayer, donations to the Ugandan Ministry for African school children, and shared experiences. UWIF meets several times per year to plan women-centered events such as She Prays (a women’s prayer breakfast) and Women’s Day, where all women in the community are invited to participate and worship. Other annual events include the Church Bazaar and the Christmas party where everyone is invited to take part as UWIF seeks to spread the word of God to men, women and children. UWIF is committed to helping women develop their God-given talents to change not only the community but the world through the love of Jesus Christ.

Our Youth Ministry is committed to creating a welcoming and Christ-centered environment where young people can grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and discover their God-given purpose. Through fellowship, Bible study, service opportunities, retreats, and engaging activities, we encourage youth to develop their spiritual gifts and strengthen their relationship with Christ. We strive to empower each young person to lead, serve, and make a positive impact within the church and throughout their community.
